Hello all, first time on board.
I am contemplating the purchase of a Bx1500 for lawn mowing and also for using the PTO to run a generator.
My question is: Will the PTO hold a constant speed with changes in the load. Or to put it another way, does the PTO have some kind of automatic speed regulator. Also can the PTO run without me sitting in the tractor!
Any help mucho appreciated. I simply refuse to ride one of those silly Home Depot riding mowers.

The BX1500 is a lot of tractor for the money but not knowing exactly all you have to do the generator that a 1500 would be comfortable with might be a little small for some. ....

The BX 1500 will run a small generator..... very small. My Deere 4115 has 20 HP at the PTO and is maxed out running a 10 KW.
So I am thinking your 12 or so PTO HP should produce 5 or 6 KW. Enough to run a house with a scaled back power need..... as long as you are not trying to start a 2.5 HP well pump or some other big draw appliance.
The diesel will adjust for the load unless it is totally overwhelmed.
You set the generator at pto speed and the engine increases or decreases the amount of fuel injected into the engine based on the load.
In other words, the engine governor will do all it can to keep the engine RPM constant as the load increases. ....
